PICKUPS

Dimarzio's are featuring heavily in my guitars.
I had previously used a PAF Pro in my 6 string, now I've got Satchur8's sitting in G.o.D and Gi0. And a Norton/Tone Zone combo in The Bitch. Nova is loaded with a set of Fishman Fluence Open Core moderns, I was underwhelmed with them at first but they are doing the job.

HELIX LT

Hoorah! Something that made the jump from "The Wish List" into my kit list. Not the most £££ on the list but still up there, so when I stumbled upon a practically new one I snatched it up. It was a deal, a steal. It was sale of the F******** century!

Seriously tho' this is an awesome piece of kit. I'm barely scratching the surface of its capabilities. I've had time for Line 6 since I used a original Red Kidney bean POD in a studio back at the turn of the century. Two Spiders and a POD XT later, you could say I'm indoctrinated. I've rolled with many units and will give anything a fair try but I don't think anything will come close to matching this beauty for a long while. Add to this that any signature tones I create can be bounced to HX stomp, Rack or Full Helix floor means I could be a Helix user for the rest of my natural life. Well played Line 6, well played.

BOSS VE-20

Vocal processor

Picked this up in cash converters, what a bargain! Quickly replaced my Digitech unit. This thing is capable of so much more than I use it for.

GROOVE MANOR RECORDING

A grand title for a Laptop centric home recording setup!?!

My main DAW is a pretty old program called Riffworks. I got a free version with my POD XT. Once it got into using it I was impressed enough to buy the full version. It feels very Guitar friendly and the Instant drummers are really useful. I can't praise it highly enough, but if you've listened to my music. Pretty much all of it was created with Riffworks and one of my Line 6 units. Click on the link below to have a snoot at the website.

Simple to use, a bit like me!

I'm sure I'm still not getting the full potential of this DAW but it is doing the job. I dread the day that support for it stops and I have to find something else.
You can record in layers and loops and add in built F/X.
As I have the Drumming ability of a sugar rushing toddler! The instant drummer section is a gift from Odin and for me one of the best features on the DAW.

LINE 6 POD XT LIVE

It's like a swiss army knife!

This has been attached to me like a tattoo for the past 15 years. just about everything has been recorded through it and its been used in every band I've played in since I got it. I think every recording on here was done with this, a laptop, Riffworks and whatever instrument I was wielding at the time.

Now its resting its old bones and grumbling at the young 'un (the Helix) like any good retired gent should do.

MARSHALL

Valvestate VS100

Hiding there behind The Ice Queen is my trusty Marshall. I've owned a number of amps over the years and the best ones have been a Line 6 stack and Marshall VS100. This one was purchased of The Druid (Bass player of The Bangkok Messiah's Of Groove).
Much as I love my Helix and Pod, this is just the sound of rock when it's cranked up. If I ever get to play live again it will be a tough call to make between a FRFR rig and the sheer growl of a natural amp and pedal board.
