AND HERE WE ARE NOW.....
Fate and determination. I couldn't sell my Ibanez 7 string, so I thought I'd better play it. I began playing and writing again purely for myself, as an escape. This I could control and with this I could express myself. Vent my pain, loneliness and emotion safely. I made A LOT of music! I had a few failed auditions but to be honest, I didn't care. I was making music for myself and If no one liked it then fine.Â
Covid Lockdown and Working from home happened and I played more. Managed to replace and upgrade some kit. My confidence was returning and I monkeyed around with some videos, started making this website and took the risk of putting my art into world.
In August 21 I began to put my music on Spotify and other streaming services. I don't expect anything, I have no delusions of grandeur. I enjoy creating and If someone enjoys listening then that's a bonus.
A few months later I received my first royalties, only $7 but it put a smile on my face.

VELVET ASYLUM
Around Sept 21 I successfully auditioned for the place as vocalist in a local Indie/Rock Covers band. This band quickly became Velvet Asylum and I'm having fun :)

It began with a call to join a band named "King's Arcade". Not my usual overall style of music. A lot of Indie and (Shudder) Oasis! However I seek to be open minded and willing to learn from anything, so when the vocal mic was offered I took it. As a 5 piece we were on the way. Circumstances led to revelations about my multi - instrumental capacity and I came very close to performing our first gig standing in on Bass. This led to the suggestion that I provide a Dave Grohl style 3rd Guitar. This would fill the gaps left by our struggling 2nd guitarist. Unfortunately this led to him not only throwing his Teddy out of the cot, he spat his dummy at it as well! So he went home... and took his ball with him! We had a moments silence then cracked on as a 4 piece.
It's great to be doing the band thing again. It may be a bit different than what I create as Nuguyo, and that is the best thing about it. I get to work with a group of awesome musicians and get challenged in a different musical direction. In turn I gain a greater appreciation of other musical styles that I may not have looked into, plus. I get my ego fed playing live (Big smile!). If anyone is wondering why I didn't join or start a "Metal" Band, I tried, nobody wanted to play with me. It must be my sparkling personality.........
