WHO!?!
I have been interested in music for as long as I can remember. I was an only child, with a indifferent mother palmed of onto Grandparents with no idea of how to raise a boy in the 80's.
Music spoke to me, I got lost in it. I escaped into it. The soundtrack to my epic and heroic adventures, at least in my imagination. I wanted a keyboard. The powers that be said no! Along with some kind of excuse. I found escape and a method of fighting back against my bullies in Martial Art's. In my teens I discovered Rock Music and Girls. The desire to play guitar arrived soon after. I begged for a guitar for my birthday or Xmas. Again I was told to bugger off!Â
In a display of my usual temperament, I displayed the middle finger and saved up to get one. On a wintery Wednesday night I got to grips with my first electric guitar. The Axe "Phantom Riff Master", 70 quid from an add in the pages of Kerrang!
It wasn't as easy as I thought it would be, and put it down in frustration. The next day I had my first attack of "The Guitar Munchies" and rushed back home to try again. The instrument has been a part of my life ever since. Several successful bands, a Degree and hundreds of gigs later and it still is.
Not bad considering my family said I'd give up after a week!
